John holds a double degree in Political Science and Psychology. He then completed an Honours year in Psychology before commencing his Master of Professional Psychology, which he is now finishing in the final month. Before beginning his formal training in psychology, John spent 15 years in frontline human services across both the private and public sectors, working in child protection, child and adolescent mental health, and various housing programs. He also spent time supporting asylum seekers and refugees in both Papua New Guinea and Nauru. John is a firm believer that our thinking is something we can learn to guide and strengthen. He views it as a skill—one that, like any other, can be developed with intention, practice and the proper support.
