About Me
Laoise started volunteering with neurodiverse people and people with intellectual disabilities as a teenager by providing accessible music lessons. She pursued a BSc in Applied Psychology to gain qualifications to continue working in that space. While completing her degree, she started working in St. John of God community services in Dublin and combined her knowledge with practical skills and experience. Laoise's passion for improving the lives of others is deeply rooted in her belief in empowerment. She is a firm advocate of providing individuals with the tools they need to enhance their lives at their own pace and in their own way. Her work has shown her the transformative power of increased autonomy and self-advocacy, inspiring her to continue her mission and encouraging others to join her in this vision. Laoise has been dedicated to music since she was a child. Her music has provided her with so many opportunities, so she attempts to incorporate it holistically into her life. She has used music as a tool to help people she has worked with express their emotions and explore their creativity, as well as conducting scientific studies on music's effects. Laoise has also spent a lot of time volunteering in various organisations, including Serious Fun camps, designed to give seriously ill children and their families a place to relax.
