Today we are highlighting a significant day - World Suicide Prevention Day. In Australia alone, nearly 10 million people have been affected by suicide so we must recognise that every single person can play a role in preventing suicide, not only on World Suicide Prevention Day but every day of the year. This year’s continuing theme of “We all have a role to play,” echos the International Association for Suicide Prevention’s (IASP) overarching theme of “Changing the Narrative on Suicide.” In this spirit, we stand united in our commitment to reduce suicide, empowering individuals with the confidence to take action. It’s very appropriate today to hear from ORS’ Lorraine Green. Lorraine is our National Complex and At Risk Client Services Manager who reviews clients who are at risk of suicide or self-harm and assists ORS clinicians in their direct work with these clients.
