About Me
Boshra has her degree in Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and is working towards completing her master's degree in Clinical/Professional Psychology. Boshra has been working as a youth worker and has experience working with children/youth in out-of-home care settings, helping to support individuals with complex traumas, and with experiences of abuse, neglect, and separation from families. Boshra is extremely passionate about mental health, especially among people with a disability. Boshra believes that we as a community need to raise awareness for mental health, and we need to eliminate the stigma attached to mental health. Boshra believes there is no greater gift than the gift of helping another human being, through listening compassionately and empathetically and supporting the client's needs in all aspects of their wellbeing. Boshra enjoys reading and learning and is always seeking new books and experiences to help her grow and develop as a person. Boshra acknowledges that being part of a large community means that the goal in life is not to strive for just happiness and pleasure, but rather life should be about service, compassion, justice, love, and giving of oneself. As Elif Shafak quotes “One man's pain will hurt us all. One man's joy will make everyone smile”.
