About Me
Abbie is a dedicated and values-driven professional with over 10 years of professional experience in psychology, counselling, case management, training, coaching and mentoring. She worked across Child Protection Services, Disability Employment Services, NDIS and Worker's Compensation sectors. Abbie worked in Occupational Rehabilitation since 2018 within the new employer and same employer divisions and also honed her skills in negotiation, mediation, strategic planning, business development, and project development. Alongside this, she provided student placement supervision for the University of Sydney and Griffith University. Abbie completed her degrees in Bachelor of Arts in Guidance and Counselling, Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Graduate Diploma in Psych and utilised a holistic approach with practical applications of Solution Focused Therapy. She believes that incorporating the principles of positive psychology, utilising their strengths and a person-centred approach are effective tools in developing a good rapport and gaining the trust of clients to help them attain their goals, with a strong focus on employment and its benefits for mental health and recovery. Abbie has an unwavering passion for helping people. She has strong advocacy for mental health promoting equality, empowerment, respect, understanding and kindness to help them feel safe and to be assimilated within the community.
