🎊Welcome to Feel Good Friday with ORS’ Walk and Talk!🎊
What better way to help raise funds for the Black Dog Institute #onestepforward campaign?
One of our ⭐️superstar⭐️ clinicians, Regional Manager for Positive Behaviour Support/Early Childhood Supports Katie Southwell, decided to mix up her session today with Adele, along with Adel’s support coordinator and recovery coach Kate Oakley, as well as Maya her support worker, for a session with a difference, while supporting a very worthy cause.
“We both chose to do One Foot Forward from our lived experience and to support those who live with mental health – and a walk and talk session on a nice day is way more fun, especially when it is followed up by hot donuts! By the end of the session we had done a sneaky 4.5km,” said Katie.
We love how our ORS clinicians think outside the box for their sessions! 💕

As we highlight #WorldMentalHealthDay it’s important to draw attention to supporting neurodiversity in the workplace and occupational burnout. 🧠
How is this defined?
Occupational burnout is defined by WHO in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11; WHO, 2022) as a “syndrome conceptualised as resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed” and is characterised by energy depletion, mental distance from one’s job and reduced professional efficacy.
It is well highlighted that both neurodiverse individuals and their neurotypical colleagues have personal characteristics that may perceived as equally vital for the implementation of work tasks, and which can also promote the occurrence of the phenomenon of occupational burnout, such as in relation to social abilities (Tomczak & Kulikowski, 2023).
With extensive experience in this area, ORS’ General Manager for Psychology Sarah Stewart shares some quick tips for employers facing challenges in this area.
Sarah also shares a very informative blog on ‘Supporting Neurodiversity in the Workplace’ with a more in depth look at all our tips 👉https://orsgroup.com.au/world-mental-health-day-supporting-neurodiversity-in-the-workplace/
If you or someone you know are seeking guidance in neuroaffirming workplace adjustments, or therapeutic support to manage operational burnout, ORS is available to help. We encourage you to please feel free to call us at 1800 000 677 or visit our website to make a referral > orsgroup.com.au/refer-now

Did you know that there are more than 17 million people across the world living with cerebral palsy and another 350 million people are closely connected to a child or adult with cerebral palsy?
💚Cerebral palsy is a physical disability that affects movement and posture. Many people with cerebral palsy have other related vision, hearing, communication, and mobility needs. Its impact can range from a weakness in one hand to almost a complete lack of voluntary movement.
It is a complex disability:
💚 1 in 4 children with cerebral palsy cannot talk
💚 1 in 4 cannot walk
💚 1 in 2 have an intellectual disability
💚1 in 4 have epilepsy.

Shout out to the Fyshwick crew as they celebrated the Moon Festival with our dietitians this week! ✨🌕
Did you know that the festival has deep cultural and historical roots, making it the second-most important holiday after Chinese New Year?
We love making learning fun here at ORS and learning about all different cultures, traditions and of course, how to make amazing moon cakes! 🌙🎉
Thank you to our dietetic team – the rest of the ORS crew look forward to tasting them. 😊

Very fancy! Great team building
Great work Fyshwick crew. Very jealous indeed. Where are ours?😉
This looks like heaps of fun!
🥇Trivia, scavenger hunts, paper toss, ping pong, and paper airplane throwing are just a few of the ORS Olympic sports our crew participated in throughout the Olympics and Paralympics.
It’s been a fantastic opportunity for our crew to honor the Olympic and Paralympic athletes across the world and congratulate them on all their amazing achievements. It was also an opportunity to highlight the Paralympic values of determination, courage, and equality – values we aspire to achieve every day at ORS!
