About Me
Dr Carmen Atkinson is an Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner and held several positions in the Positive Behaviour Support division at ORS prior to assuming the General Manager role in 2023.
Carmen cares deeply about providing the best behaviour support plans and services to our clients and their care network, in order to best support their needs and foster positive outcomes and improved quality of life. She strives to support staff across the PBS division to constantly learn and live their passion for helping others.
Carmen previously worked in the tertiary education sector after developing a fascination for the brain and electrophysiology. Her research work focused on various aspects of human cognition and mental health. She has co-authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals, presented at national and international conferences, taught undergraduate psychology courses (advanced developmental psychology, pre-professional psychology, cognitive psychology, and research methodology), and supervised/co-supervised Honours and Research Higher Degree students in a variety of research projects.
