About Me
Emer completed her training in Clinical Speech and Language Studies in Trinity College Dublin in Ireland. Over the past 5 years Emer has worked in varied clinical settings and has gained valuable experience working with both children and adults. Emer has worked in the areas of Aged Care, Acute Stroke, Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease, ASD, Intellectual Disability and Head and Neck Cancer. Emer has a passion for working with people with communication and swallowing needs and feels strongly about a person-centred approached which emphasises the client’s individual strengths and needs. Emer believes in the importance of improving the client’s quality of life through functional and meaningful goals which have a positive impact on the client’s day-to-day life. Emer is also extremely passionate about the area of dysphagia management and has furthered her skills in this area by completing postgraduate training including Video fluoroscopy training. Emer is a Certified Practising member of Speech Pathology Australia and engages in regular Continuous Professional Development to further her skills as a Speech Pathologist.
