Emma, PBS plan reviewer, has qualifications in education, social work, and counselling, and a master’s degree in special education/disability. She has worked extensively across a range of settings, including specialist education settings that support children and young people with complex needs, not-for-profit child welfare services, and the NDIS as an advanced positive behaviour practitioner with a specialty in trauma. Her skills and background reflect a strong commitment to building skills that support independence and engagement with learning to meet key milestones, so that individuals can thrive in the community. Emma has performed a range of senior management roles, including the foundation Principal of the Berry Street School, a specialist setting for young people in out-of-home care with a history of developmental trauma. Previous NDIS roles include PBS clinical leadership roles that support high-quality, evidence-based practice and staff training to become effective practitioners, combining strong relationships and technical knowledge to improve participants' quality of life.
