About Me

Katharina is a bilingual (English/German) counsellor and family‑support professional with a Diploma of Counselling (TAFE Illawarra) and a Master of Applied Linguistics from UNSW. Her career started in property before a career change to align with her passions. Her more recent roles centred on early intervention working with families in the community and counselling in private practice, where she had a focus on young adults. She specialises in family‑centred early intervention, parent coaching and trauma‑informed, goal-oriented counselling, using evidence‑based approaches including CBT and ACT. In her last role, she supported 15 families in home visits and group sessions using a strengths‑based, child‑focused approach, and is trained in PEEP, Bringing Up Great Kids and Tuning into Teens facilitation. Her strengths include early intervention, developing treatment plans, stakeholder engagement, data and report management, and practical problem‑solving skills she applies to building parental confidence and early childhood. A local mother of two based on the Central Coast, Katharina brings empathy, initiative and excellent time‑management to her work. She is passionate about supporting children, young people and their carers in achieving their goals, and is committed to ongoing professional development and community‑focused practice. In her free time, she loves to garden. Her garden is her happy place and gives her the calm she brings back to her professional life.
