Mai has experience across the disability, NDIS and education sectors. She has worked as a Disability Support Worker, NDIS Intake Officer, Customer Service Officer, coach at We Rock the Spectrum, and one-on-one Integration Aide at a primary school. In her roles as an NDIS Intake Officer and Customer Service Officer, Mai developed experience supporting people with Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and Supported Independent Living (SIL). She has also developed strong skills in building trusted relationships, promoting participation and independence, and collaborating with families, educators and other professionals. Mai has completed a Diploma of Community Services and is currently studying a Bachelor of Education and Early Childhood to further enhance her knowledge and skills. Mai is passionate about working as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, with a particular interest in child-focused practice. She takes a person-centred and strengths-based approach, promoting each person’s autonomy, choice and active participation in decisions about their own lives. Mai is committed to supporting positive behaviour, inclusion and meaningful development for children, young people and families. Mai focuses on understanding each individual’s needs, abilities, communication style and goals, while promoting positive behaviour, inclusion and meaningful development.
