About Me
Mya is a passionate graduate Occupational Therapist with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. Throughout her clinical placements, she gained experience across paediatrics, workplace rehabilitation and community adult settings and upper limb therapy. These diverse experiences have developed her skills in assessment, goal setting, intervention planning and working collaboratively with clients, families and multidisciplinary teams. Mya has a particular interest in paediatric occupational therapy and supporting children to participate confidently in everyday activities. She is passionate about strengths-based, family-centred practice and developing practical strategies that promote independence, wellbeing and participation at home, school and in the community. Mya is especially interested in supporting children to access inclusive sporting and team-based opportunities, ensuring that every child can be active, connected and involved. Outside of work, Mya enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active and participating in team activities. These interests have strengthened her appreciation of the physical, social and emotional benefits of community participation. During her placements, she developed strong communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills, and is committed to ongoing professional development as she begins her occupational therapy career.
