About Me
Rachael is a Registered Psychologist with four years of experience working in the public mental health sector across the community, custodial and hospital settings. She has worked with various client presentations, including anxiety and mood disorders, post-traumatic stress and complex trauma, eating disorders, personality disorders, psychosis and substance use. Rachael understands that people present with unique strengths, challenges, motivations and needs. She strives to provide therapeutic services that are collaborative, client-centred, trauma-informed and inclusive. Rachael is an eclectic practitioner who offers a range of evidence-based interventions informed by Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Schema Therapy and Somatic Psychotherapy to effectively assess and treat various mental health issues. Rachael is passionate about suicide awareness and prevention. She has extensive experience in risk assessment and management and crisis intervention and has previously been involved in developing and delivering suicide prevention training to correctional staff. Rachael is also a strong advocate for de-stigmatising the experience of mental ill-health and has particular interests in educating and promoting self-care and self-compassion among clients and their families and carers.
