About Me
Rachel holds a bachelor's degree in psychology. She has over 5 years of experience working with persons with diverse disabilities in support practitioner and management roles, primarily in the supported independent living sector. She also has experience applying counselling and teaching skills in settings with children and at-risk youth. Rachel views health and well-being holistically, understanding that physical, neurological, and emotional challenges are interdependent. This motivates Rachel to take the time to explore all possible contributing factors to behaviours of concern and design and implement behaviour management strategies that are tailored to the individual client. Rachel has lived experience with ASD, intellectual disability, and behaviours of concern, enabling her to liaise compassionately with her clients' support systems. Rachel is particularly interested in the impact of early childhood trauma on behaviour and is currently undertaking professional development in this area.
