About Me
Shanna is a dedicated Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) and specialised training in Trauma-Informed Care and Mental Health. She is passionate about empowering individuals to build independence and improve their quality of life. Shanna values collaboration with families, carers, and support networks to ensure that each person feels heard, respected, and supported in achieving their goals. With experience across child protection, disability, and youth services, Shanna brings both clinical knowledge and hands-on expertise to her practice. She has over 5 years of experience within the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), supporting individuals with complex disabilities, trauma, and mental health conditions who display behaviours of concern. Shanna has worked closely with young people through mentoring and school-based programs, supporting emotional regulation, resilience, skill development, and re-engagement with education. She has delivered therapeutic support across a range of environments, including homes, schools, out-of-home care placements, and community settings. In addition, Shanna has experience in child protection, supporting families facing complex challenges, including high-risk safety concerns. Shanna is deeply committed to evidence-based, strengths-based, and trauma-informed practice. She understands the impact of trauma on behaviour and prioritises respectful, person-centred, and grounded approaches that are grounded in each individual’s lived experience.
