About Me

About Me

Tomas is passionate about supporting children and adolescents to develop their strengths, build meaningful relationships and participate fully in their homes, schools and communities. As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner within the National Disability Insurance Scheme, he has nearly two years of experience in the role and will reach this milestone in October. He works collaboratively with individuals, families, support networks and other professionals to understand the factors contributing to behaviours of concern and develop practical, person-centred strategies. Tomas holds a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary), a Graduate Diploma of Psychology and a Graduate Diploma of Psychology (Advanced). He also taught casually in secondary schools for five years, gaining valuable experience in adolescent development, diverse learning needs, classroom environments and relationship-building. These experiences have shaped a compassionate, evidence-informed approach that recognises behaviours of concern as forms of communication and promotes choice, emotional regulation, skill development and independence. He is committed to providing respectful, individualised support that reflects each person’s strengths, preferences and goals. He intends to apply for a Master’s degree in psychology this year, with the long-term goal of becoming a registered psychologist. His practical experience, commitment to ongoing learning and holistic approach make him a valuable member of the ORS team.
