About Me
Katie has a Bachelor of Science in Criminology with Psychology with over 8 years of experience working within mental health in different geographies and jurisdictions, including homelessness support, NDIS psychosocial disabilities, youth work, prisons, and restorative justice. Her career highlight was working in a psychiatric unit in Sri Lanka, fostering therapeutic services. Most recently Katie has been working as a case manager for women experiencing homelessness and domestic violence. Katie is passionate about providing person-centred and holistic support, recognising every individual has unique strengths. She has a diverse interest in working with clients of all ages and varying diagnoses. Katie is additionally passionate about creating a rapport with clients. She believes working with people in this way ensures the best interest of the client resulting in each individual feeling heard. Katie is always eager to learn and takes on additional learning to provide best practices. Most recently completing courses in suicide intervention and emotional intelligence. Katie has a strong interest in counselling for future studies.
