About Me
Kimberly has obtained her bachelor’s degree in teaching with a focus on Early Childhood Education. She has worked as a kindergarten teacher for four years and as a mentor teacher for numerous Early Childhood students. Before this, Kimberly worked extensively in the hospitality industry on a large scale, which equipped her with various skills through meeting and engaging with people. This skill set enables her to create deep connections, understand a variety of perspectives and communicate authentically. As a teacher Kimberly was known for her individualised learning approach that focused on each child and how to enable them the opportunity to engage and collaborate in learning in a holistic way. Kimberly worked with various families and teachers to provide exceptional learning experiences drawn from various teaching lenses, asserting that learning is fluid and intrinsic to the individual and their journey. A strong passion of Kimberly’s is utilising First Nations perspectives in learning to engage children in learning that might otherwise feel dysregulated. Kimberly is passionate and dedicated to understanding and building knowledge around neurodiversity and First Nations perspectives. She is active within the community and regularly participates in courses, classes and social events to further extend her knowledge and develop her understanding of the issues and complexities that both neurodivergent and indigenous peoples may experience. The goal is to develop connections and supports for both communities of people to advocate for their rights.
