About Me
Maree has completed her master's degree in Educational and Developmental psychology at the University of Melbourne, and is currently completing our Educational and Development registrar program. Maree has experience in conducting cognitive assessments to determine the presence of intellectual disability/delay and diagnosing learning disorders such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. She also has experience counselling children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, and gender issues. Previously, Maree has worked as a mental health worker, where she supported clients diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar, and personality disorders.Maree uses a gentle, person-centred, empathic, approach to connect with her clients, and enjoys working with people from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds- as she believes that everyone is entitled to a life free of unnecessary psychological suffering.Maree's preferred modality is ACT, however, she is flexible in that she will utilise and tailor the most appropriate intervention/approach that targets the client's presenting concerns or goals (CBT, schema, narrative, DBT, etc.).Since joining ORS, Maree is pleased to expand her diagnostic skills to include autism and ADHD assessments for children and adults.
