About Me

About Me

Anika has worked in the behaviour support industry for the past 12 years with roles in early intervention, including ABA therapy, Behaviour Support Practitioner, Behaviour Support Team Leader, Behaviour Support Regional Manager and most recently, General Manager. Alongside her roles in behaviour, Anika has worked in hospital mental health units, inpatient and outpatient groups, and local community centres as a counsellor and social worker for 3 years. Now, as a Training Manager/Supervisor at ORS Group, Anika is passionate about mentoring practitioners and embedding values-based, inclusive practice across all aspects of service delivery. She is dedicated to developing and teaching strategies tailored to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, ensuring every participant and practitioner feels understood, respected, and supported. Anika is a strong advocate for neurodivergent individuals and actively works to create workplaces and therapeutic environments where diversity is celebrated, and needs are met with care and competence. Amongst all this, working with children has her heart, and she is actively pursuing specialisation in this field. Anika is an advanced practitioner who thrives on learning and evolving and is working towards becoming a licensed Mental Health Social Worker. With a love for sharing knowledge and building others’ confidence, she places strong emphasis on reducing the use of Restrictive Practices (RPs) through proactive strategies, compliance education, and safe, person-centred intervention. She has trained teams on understanding legislation, embedding RP safeguards, and approaching challenging behaviour with clinical curiosity and compassion. Anika’s favourite modalities include family systems theory, attachment theory, and the works of Noam Chomsky and Alfred Adler. She can engage in therapy in Bangla, English, Hindi and Urdu—and is currently learning Korean.
Outside of work, Anika founded Project Unlearn, a social education initiative based in Bangladesh that challenges gender stereotypes and regressive norms. The values of this project—equity, empowerment, and re-education—align closely with her behaviour support philosophy and continue to influence her mission to create inclusive, trauma-informed, and socially aware systems of care. Anika deeply loves her work and is driven by the desire to support people—both clients and professionals—in becoming the best version of themselves through knowledge, empathy, and community.
