About Me

About Me

Cathryn graduated with a Master of Occupational Therapy from Curtin University, after over ten years as a high school teacher. Her passion as a teacher was working with students who have additional learning needs and mental health concerns, developing strengths in individualised planning, executive function supports, sensory strategies, and trauma-informed practice. Cathryn’s ability to build rapport quickly, adapt interventions to real-life situations, and collaborate effectively with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams ensured that she helped her students see their own potential and build on their existing strengths. Cathryn decided to retrain as an occupational therapist to extend that impact by using an educator’s pragmatism with occupational therapy’s focus on participation and function. Her approach is person-centred, strengths-based, and focused on functional outcomes. Together with clients, families, and other supports, Cathryn will set clear, meaningful goals and use small, sustainable changes — the “1% better every day” philosophy — to build routines, skills, and confidence throughout the lifespan.
