About Me
Eliza has over five years of experience within the Disability sector, working as an independent support worker for individuals of varying ages living with a range of intellectual and physical disabilities. More recently, Eliza worked as a Disability consultant, utilising the social role valorisation framework, where she worked alongside individuals, families and stakeholders to support individuals living with intellectual disabilities to gain and maintain active, valued and meaningful roles within their community. Eliza holds a Master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy; she has worked with a range of participants across the lifespan, living with mental ill-being within clinical settings. She believes in placing lived experience at the core of her practice, utilising holistic, collaborative, person-centred and strengths-based approaches to support individuals to realise their potential, build their capacity and agency, and enhance their overall emotional and physical well-being. Eliza is empathetic, compassionate, non-Judgemental, and kind. She is an LGBTIAQ+ aware and neuro-divergent affirming therapist and inclusive of all people. She is passionate about trauma-informed care, and employs this approach when working with individuals, centering the person and their voice. She believes in the potential of everyone. Eliza enjoys working alongside a wide range of individuals across the lifespan with differing presentations, tailoring her approach to suit the needs and values of each client. She believes it is paramount to build rapport and foster connection with her clients by cultivating safe, trusting and non-Judgemental spaces for them to thrive.Â
