About Me
Katherine has over 14 years’ experience as a Social Worker specialising in the area of child protection. Katherine has 7 years’ experience working for NSW Health in the area of Violence, Abuse and Neglect with a focus on responding to significant child protection issues and domestic violence. Katherine has worked with children and families across the life span in a range of statutory, clinical, educational and therapeutic settings locally and abroad.Katherine has worked with individuals with complex childhood trauma to assist individuals and their families to build safety and stability. Katherine is passionate about assisting families to overcome challenges and barriers in their lives to enhance their wellbeing so children and families may flourish in their communities. Katherine is dedicated to achieving this by drawing on her social work knowledge, theory, skills and practice wisdom from a range of different areas to achieve best outcomes for families. Katherine is interested in supporting families and victims of trauma and will often work in the Emergency Department at the local hospital to provide support and assistance. Katherine also gives back to the community by visiting the elderly and providing psychosocial support.
