What does Dietetics, Uptown Funk, and a quad biking accident have in common? 🤔
Dietitian Samantha Assaf joined Trav & Lazz for one of our favourite episodes, now remixed and back on your feed.
Between the carpool karaoke and a very tricky game of two truths and a lie, Sam manages to squeeze in some genuinely eye-opening stuff about what it actually takes to become an accredited dietitian, navigating nutrition misinformation, and a session breakthrough with a young participant that's a good reminder of why creative thinking matters in this work.

Your Recovery Is More Than Physical. We've Known That for over 30 Years.
A workplace injury doesn't occur in isolation. Its impact extends beyond the physical, affecting mental health, family dynamics, financial stability, and a person's fundamental sense of identity and purpose. At ORS, we have understood this for three decades.
Since 1992, ORS has been one of Australia's most trusted rehabilitation providers, supporting injured workers and their families through some of life's most challenging experiences. Our approach is grounded in evidence-based practice and a deep commitment to whole-of-person care, because genuine recovery cannot be achieved by treating an injury alone.
From the moment you engage with our team, your psychological wellbeing is assessed and supported alongside your physical rehabilitation. Our clinicians are trained to identify early indicators of stress, trauma, fear-avoidance, and adjustment difficulties — intervening with precision and compassion before these barriers become entrenched.
At ORS, you will never be pushed, judged, or reduced to a claim number. You will be heard, respected, and supported by a multidisciplinary team that understands the full complexity of what you are navigating.
What whole-of-person rehabilitation looks like at ORS:
Early psychological screening and intervention, integrated from day one
Evidence-based treatment addressing both physical and mental health needs
A clinically supervised pathway that builds confidence, self-efficacy, and sustainable work readiness
Access to psychological support — without stigma, escalation, or unnecessary barriers
Over thirty years of experience. One unwavering commitment: recovery built around you, not just your injury.

We’re honoured to share Liam’s journey, a brave nine-year-old who has been navigating long-term challenges with eating and mealtimes. 🍽️💛
When Liam’s family reached out, they were looking for support that felt safe, understanding, and free from judgement. They wanted someone who could truly listen and help Liam feel more comfortable around food again. 🌱
Xavier, one of our Dietitians at ORS, worked alongside Liam and his family to build trust, create healthy boundaries, and support Liam at his own pace.
His mum shared:
“Liam is less anxious, more relaxed, and he’s even using words he wouldn’t have used before to describe his feelings about food… he feels hopeful that it’s not forever.” 💚

ORS is busting diabetes myths this World Diabetes Day 2025! 💪
There are so many strong opinions out there about diabetes and food.
“Don’t eat sugar.” “Carbs are the enemy.” “You’ll definitely need medication.”
It’s a lot, and it can feel overwhelming, confusing, and even a little bit scary.
So, we invited our State Manager for Dietetics, Nicole Saliba, to sit down and clear things up in the kindest, most empowering way. 🙌
In this episode, Nicole chats through some of the most common misunderstandings about diabetes, including sugar, carbs, weight, medication, and the idea of “curing” diabetes, and breaks them down into simple, meaningful explanations that actually make sense in real life.
No judgement.
No fear messaging.
No quick-fix promises.
Just supportive, evidence-informed insights you can take into your everyday life. 💚
Tap to watch and learn something new today, or share with someone who deserves kind, clear information.

Love this!
Sending love and support for diabetes awareness 🙏
Diabetes’ awareness day is close to my heart with my 13 year old daughter being diagnosed 4.5 years ago with type 1. A daily struggle that no one would ever understand unless they were on the journey as well. Type 2 is often confused with type 1 and the myths you have pointed out in your myth busters are important to note, along with the fact that type 1 is an autoimmune disease that is not caused by what someone eats, lack of exercise or lifestyle choices but rather a disease where the pancreas does not produce insulin. Thank you for spreading awareness and a dietician certainly is an important key in supporting those with all types of diabetes 💙
