Casey joins Trav and Lazz for this episode of Carpool Clinician 🚗
Casey is one of our amazing Inclusive Employment Managers, and she talks through what Inclusive Employment Australia actually does: sitting down with someone, working out what's getting in the way, and helping them find a job that suits them.
Her approach to building trust is refreshingly simple. Listen properly, understand where someone is at, and start from there.
It's an approach that comes from experience. Casey has used an employment service herself, and says that's where her passion for the work comes from 💬

Wooo!! This is awesome Casey.
Go Casey Wood you little legend!! ❤️
Casey is truly inspiring, great job! 😁😁😁
When we first met Mitchell and his mum Allison, he was living at home. Allison had one big goal: to help Mitchell work towards supported independent living.
Mitchell is minimally verbal, so trust came first. We spent time with him at his day program, joining in the activities he loved. Bowling. Puzzles. High fives. "Well done, Mitchell." 🫸🫷
From there, the whole team worked together. A behaviour support plan built around routine. A dietitian who started small, with a slice of cheese next to his morning toast. Support staff who showed up consistently, every single day.
Fast forward to today, Mitchell lives in his own supported home. He follows his morning routine independently. He chooses his own activities, his own meals, even which supermarket he wants to shop at. And he's gone from two safe foods to enjoying pasta bakes, veggies and even salmon.
His mum's goal became his reality, one small step at a time.
Every person's path looks different, and progress like Mitchell's takes time, teamwork and the right supports. But his story shows what can happen when a team truly gets to know the person they're supporting.

What a fantastic day at the ORS Melbourne Careers Expo! 🎉
Around 50 participants connected face to face with employers including Australia Post, Services Australia, Compass Group and Tailored Workforce, alongside training providers and government partners.
Inspiring presentations from Australia Post and Deakin University set the tone for the day, and by the end multiple participants had secured interviews and job offers on the spot.
Huge thanks to every employer, presenter and partner who made it such a success! 🙌

A few years ago, Sayeth was 14, quiet, and stuck close to his mum's side. He'd never have imagined doing an interview, let alone hosting his own. Today, he runs his own music project and interviews the artists he grew up admiring, on camera, in his own voice, and he'll tell you himself how much more confident he feels now.
What changed was simple. Someone took the time to find out what Sayeth loved (music) and built on it, session by session, at his pace. No big leap, just small steady steps that added up.
Sayeth's message to anyone watching is that you can be whoever you want to be. Find a passion and run with it, the way he has.

Love this! Connection comes before direction, lovely little saying I've learnt today!
Michael’s wins are worth celebrating. 💙
Over the past 18 months, Michael has been working on his communication, routines and ways to express what he wants and needs.
With the encouragement of his partner Susan and the people around him, Michael has embraced visual supports and a more consistent routine. Susan has noticed positive changes in his communication and engagement, while Michael’s humour and personality continue to shine through.
Some days are easier than others, and progress does not always follow a straight line. Every step forward reflects Michael’s persistence and the commitment of the people who know and support him best.

Love seeing the PBS and OT division work together, it's what makes ORS so special. Our seamless MDT approach helping clients reach goals 🙌 Amazing work Ellie and Jude!
Happy PBS Week! 🎉
To kick things off, our Positive Behaviour Support leaders came together to answer one question: what does lifelong learning mean to you?
Their answers might surprise you. It's not about knowing everything. As one of our leaders put it, it's about "staying curious" and being willing to admit when you're wrong.
Why does this matter to you and your family? Because behaviour support isn't one-size-fits-all. Research changes, best practice changes, and every person we support is different. Our team keeps learning so the support you receive keeps up with what matters most: you.

Yes ladies!! So inspiring! Love to learn and grow and you're right ... it's important to stay humble, we might not always have all the answers but to have the adaptability to ask questions, work together and find solutions is the most important thing ♥️

How do you explain 'stranger danger' to someone who learns best by doing? 🤔
Samantha, one of our PBS practitioners, has a trick that might already be sitting in your toy box: LEGO. 🧱
It's because LEGO is so hands-on and easy to move around, LEGO lets Samantha build real-life situations with the people she supports. Things like holding an adult's hand when crossing the road, or working out whether someone online is safe to talk to.
Samantha finds that building and getting creative in a session helps people relax, open up, and actually hold on to what they learn.
When your child can see a tricky situation built out in front of them, it feels clearer and a lot less scary. And when learning feels like play, everything just clicks.
Turns out some of life's biggest lessons can be learned brick by brick. 🏗️
What tricky topic would you build first with your child? Tell us in the comments 👇

Ever wondered what to expect before your first visit? Come on in.
You'll meet Anusha and Ava at reception, who greet everyone who walks through our doors. You'll see our counselling rooms with comfy couches, our two paediatric therapy rooms set up just for kids, and the spaces where our psychology, occupational therapy, speech pathology, dietetics, behaviour support and inclusive employment teams work side by side.
Nine clinic rooms means there's a room for every occasion, whether that's a quiet chat, a play-based session or an inclusive employment consultation.
If you or your child are starting with us soon, we hope this makes that first visit feel a little more familiar. And if you have any questions before you come in, just ask. We're happy to help.
