About Me

Nadine has 30 years of professional experience working in both the health and disability sectors. She has worked in public and private hospitals as a Registered Community Nurse. More recently, over the past 5 years she was managing a Supported Independent Living group home overseeing and supporting a team of support workers enabling opportunities for 5 young adults with complex disabilities while delivering person-centred supports to live their best lives in achieving their aspirations, dreams and goals through their lifes journey while promoting independence and skill building. Nadine has a strong sense of justice for the rights for people with disabilities to have choice and control, and is passionate in her belief that people with disabilities have the right to be valued, accepted and respected members of their communities. She is a strong advocate who possess insight and vision when supporting people to achieve their goals Nadine is proactive in her approach with an unwavering commitment, strong values and beliefs in supporting people to grow, develop skills and gain valuable knowledge in supporting them to achieve their life dreams and aspirations. Nadine is an accredited Relationship Counsellor having giving back to her community by volunteering time to counsel couples. She continues to hold a strong interest and passion in the area of mental health, in particular the cohort of people with dual diagnoses. Nadine devoted 3 hrs a month of her time as an active consortium member of a local headspace for 10 years. Her interest and commitment to mental health, lead to her being a Published Author (British Journal of Occupational Therapy) Research paper Implementation of the enhanced intersectoral links approach to increased employment outcomes for consumers of a large metropolitan mental health service. She is an experienced NDIS-Independent Living Service Manager with her passion for youth to live in their community leading to her developing a Supported Independent living model for young people with disabilities living independently with flat mates in their local community with minimal external supports.
