About Me
Jia is an occupational therapist who graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2025. Her interest in paediatrics began during her first placement, and she subsequently worked as a paediatric allied health assistant, gaining practical experience in child development, sensory processing, emotional regulation, and fine motor skills. Jia has a particular interest in sensory and fine-motor development, specialising in handwriting intervention, task sequencing, and establishing routines. She developed and ran a playgroup for children with developmental delays through Playgroups ACT, which promoted social engagement, play skills and developmental milestones in group settings. Jia focuses on a strengths-based approach and is passionate about enabling people to do the things they want in life. She also has a passion for fitness and exercise, as well as supporting others to be active and participate in sports they love. In addition to paediatric practice, she has experience working with adults and older adults in community and home settings, where she found home modifications advantageous—adapting environments to help people remain safe and independent at home for as long as possible.
