About Me
With a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Psychology and a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology and Mental Health, Jodie brings a well-rounded, evidence-informed approach to Positive Behaviour Support. She is committed to person-centred practice and recognises that every individual is unique, with their own strengths, preferences and life experiences that must inform support planning.
Before moving into PBS, Jodie served as a Police Detective in the UK, where she developed strong skills in risk assessment, investigation, crisis response and multi agency collaboration. Her policing career exposed her to a wide range of vulnerable people, victims and those experiencing mental health crises. This fostered a deep commitment to supporting community members to live safe, meaningful and connected lives. Jodie has direct experience working within complex safeguarding teams and supporting children who have experienced trauma; these roles sharpened her ability to work sensitively, ethically and with urgency when required.
Jodie enjoys working with a diverse range of people and values learning about each person’s culture, background and identity. She believes culturally responsive practice is central to building trust and delivering supports that are respectful, relevant and effective. Her approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed: she prioritises relationship building, clear and compassionate communication, and collaborative decision-making with clients, families and multidisciplinary teams. In her PBS role at ORS Group, Jodie is passionate about ensuring clients and their families feel heard and supported at every stage of the process. She aims to achieve genuine, sustainable improvements in quality of life by co-designing practical, respectful behaviour support plans that reduce risk, build skills and promote independence.
